This is a production kid of a silkscreening machine produced in 2005 in a limited edition of 15 units in collaboration with ELSHOPO, an up-and-coming art unit in France that is engaged in performances and various experimental projects using silkscreening. Silkscreen is a type of printmaking and printing technique, and in the contemporary art world, Andy Warhol is famous for using this technique to create many artworks. Recently, it has been used as a printmaking technique by various artists in Japan and abroad, including Takashi Murakami, Yayoi Kusama, and Ryan McGuinness, while it is also used in various factories as a mass-production printing method for package printing and T-shirts.
The kit includes a silk screen stand for printing on T-shirts, squeegee for printing ink, bucket, water-based ink, ink cleaner, sightseeing emulsion for plate making, long bucket, and cleaner for falling plate, etc. All the tools necessary for starting silk screen printing from plate making, printing, to falling plate are included. The silkscreening kit also comes with an original silkscreening manual book (30cm x 40cm with French + Japanese translation).
The silkscreening kit is sold at the online store of LOWORKS Inc. , French museums, etc., and is now all sold out.
